Tammy Sheffer-Bracha Designer

My journey into design began after moving to the US in 1999. That first year, I took a few furniture making classes and then enrolled at the Center for Furniture and Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine where I learned to design and build fine furniture.

When I moved to Texas in 2003, I did not yet have my own studio. I began working out of the Austin Community College woodshop and was invited to teach a number of classes in design and fine woodworking. While there, I expanded my area of expertise by completing an associates degree in construction management. In 2006, I designed and built my studio. Since then, I completed the renovation of my home and consulted on many other renovations.

Later, through my husband’s passion for gardening, I discovered the field of landscape design. It has been a journey that is the culmination of years of education and design experience. I design outdoor spaces based on the needs and ideas of clients and I project manage those designs into reality.

My vision of design has come to encompass the entire living space: while I still enjoy practicing and teaching woodworking, much of my current work is in designing outdoor spaces.
